Lever 3 – Environment is one of the five strategic levers of TotalEnergies' sustainable development framework, focusing specifically on environmental releases. It addresses emissions, waste and pollution related to operational activities, with the aim of reducing environmental impact through concrete actions and awareness-raising.
It does not cover biodiversity or water resource management, which are addressed by other initiatives. Lever 3 focuses strictly on emissions to air, water and soil, as well as waste generation during the operational phase.
With this in mind, and given that ‘everyone has a role to play,’ change begins with knowledge: it is important for everyone to be aware of the potential environmental releases associated with their activities. The One HSE Environment department has decided to publish maps of potential environmental releases, taking into account TotalEnergies' main activities.
